Zec 13:1In that day there shall be a fountain
opened to the house of David and
to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for
sin and for uncleanness.

In that day
[03117] yowm
there shall be a fountain
[04726] maqowr
opened [06605] pathach
to the house
[01004] bayith
of David
[01732] David
and to the inhabitants
[03427] yashab
of Jerusalem
[03389] Y@ruwshalaim
for sin
[02403] chatta'ah
and for uncleanness.
[05079] niddah

This glorious verse opens Zechariah 13, and it's
overflowing with grace. So many grim warnings
and punishments besieged the House of David,
from the time of Moses, with their constant
rebellion and blindness, but, here, in the last
days, a wellspring of life is revealed, which not
only cleanses them from innate sin, but, which
transforms the nation into a holy union with
their Creator and Savior.

It's fairly straightforward, and the KJV translation
is glorious. The individual words add dimension
of unlimited grace. I'd like to focus on these words
to have harmony of other verses.

First, the word "fountain" 'maqowr' is one of those
complex spiritual metaphors. Salvation itself is
frequently referred to in terms of water of life,
wellspring, abundant water.

To desert dwelling agrarian people, water is life.
We take water for granted, having easy access
to it, but, clean fresh water was the basis for
ancient civilizations. In Genesis, abundant
wells were fought over more than gold and
cattle. Around areas where the water table
yielded wells and clean water, civilizations
were built and flourished. Drought was
synonymous with holocaust, genocide and
punishment.

The visual benefits of envisioning a clear
water fountain is even more refreshing.
After a long spiritual drought which occurred
spiritually to the House of David, a miraculous
fountain of unending clear water of salvation
is revealed. This image is repeated again and
again in prophecy. One of the most stunning
is in Ezekiel's description of the Messianic
Age, when under the throne of Christ, in
Jerusalem, a river of clear water proceeds
to cleanse the land, and even cure the Dead
Sea.

Used in spiritual metaphor, these verses
exemplify it's connection to God's salvation:

Psa 68:26 Bless ye God in the congregations,
[even] the Lord, from the fountain maqowr
of Israel .

Psa 36:7
How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness,
O God! therefore the children of men
put their trust under the shadow of
thy wings.

Psa 36:8
They shall be abundantly satisfied
with the fatness of thy house;
and thou shalt make them drink
of the river of thy pleasures.

Psa 36:9
FFor with thee is the fountain
of life: in thy light shall we see
light.

SIN (offering)- chatta'ah

Transliteration

chatta'ah

Exd 29:36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock
[for] a sin offering chatta-ah for atonement : and thou shalt
cleanse the altar , when thou hast made an atonement
for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

Exd 30:10 And Aaron shall make an atonement
upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood
of the sin offering chatta-ah of atonements : once
in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout
our generations: it [is] most holy unto the LORD .

In the past, and original covenant of the LAW,
the blood of the sin offering was offered by
the High Priest, as a symbol of appeasement
for propitiation.

Leading up to the Messiah, Zechariah and
the Prophets reveal a greater message of
salvation. The LAW, as a teacher, was like
the ABCs of grade school. By understanding
the gore and blood of sin, the death that it
causes, not only to us individually, but, to
a sacrificial animal, was meant to deepen
our awareness of the infirmities of our
character as mortals.

We war in the flesh against the spirit which
is seeking God. In our age, we don't even
acknowledge sin in any great degree, and
even more depressingly, sin is extolled as
pleasurable and preferred. "Sin City" is
the catch phrase to lure people to Las
Vegas. "Sinfully good" is used to tempt
our tastes in all things.

Even Paul laments that the things which
we seek spiritually are undermined by
the weaknesses in the flesh, and in the
world and the demonic influences which
bombard us. Our only hope is in the
knowledge of a forgiving God, but, more
importantly, in the place of Aaron, and
his subsequent sons as High Priest, we
now have a High Priest from heaven,
who understood our temptations and
struggles, and whose own blood was
used to cleanse our sins.

In this glorious metaphor in Zech 13:1,
a fountain of water is provided to
cleanse the House of David from sin.
That fountain is Jesus Christ, symbolically,
but, there will also be a literal fountain
of water which will proceed from under
Jerusalem.

This water will heal the water of the world
which is poisoned.

UNCLEANESS= Niddah

Lev 12:2 Speak unto the children of Israel ,
saying , If a woman have conceived seed ,
and born a man child : then she shall be unclean
seven days ; according to the days of the
separation niddahfor her infirmity shall she be
unclean .

Lev 15:19 And if a woman have an issue ,
[and] her issue in her flesh be blood , she
shall be put apart niddah seven days : and
whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean
until the even .

There are dozens of verses which refer
to uncleaness as being both a physical
discharge, such as menstrual and post-
partem discharge, to other more
spiritual conditions of uncleanness
such as adultery and sins of the flesh.

God created reproduction health and
it's not suggested that this in itself is
unclean, but, because of it's unpleasantness,
it represents a more esoteric inner state
of putrid wretchedness. This is what the
LAW sought to instruct and what YHWH
laid out to the ancient cultures.

In ceremonial ablution to adjust for these
physical states, the Hebrews had rituals
for ablution and cleansing, as well as
the symbolic cleansing of the House of
David, outlined in the LAW:

Num 19:9 And a man [that is] clean shall gather
up the ashes of the heifer , and lay [them] up without
the camp in a clean place , and it shall be kept
for the congregation of the children of Israel
for a water of separation niddah:
it is a purification for sin.

The mystical rite of the red heifer is sacred to
the ancient Law. It is absent from modern
orthodox Judaism because of the lack of the
Temple, as well as lack of red heifer, although
in Israel, they have been breeding red heifers
again, in preparation for the Messiah and their
hope of the new Temple. While this is done in
their blindness, it is very thrilling to note that
even in their state of rebellion, they have
been preparing for Him.

The one thing that they have not seen yet is
that the sacrifice and ashes of the red heifer
has been fulfilled in the sacrifice of God's
Son, and our Messiah, Yeshua HaMaschiach.

It is not a cow's ashes which immersed in
water can remove the stain and stench of sin,
but the spiritual immersion of the soul in
the fountain of life in the LORD, Jesus Christ.

Num 19:13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body
of any man that is dead , and purifieth not himself,
defileth the tabernacle of the LORD ; and that soul
shall be cut off from Israel : because the water
of separation niddah was not sprinkled upon him,
he shall be unclean ; his uncleanness [is] yet upon him.

Even in our most pious moments, our own
righteousness is tainted by the proximity of
sin all around us. We're always surrounded by
it. Even when we sanctify ourselves, without the
blood and cloak of Jesus Christ, our natural
goodness and righteousness appears as
dirty rags, literally quoted as "menstruous
rags." That's pretty rough language and very
very gross.

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean [thing],
and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities,
like the wind, have taken us away.

Lam 1:17 Zion spreadeth forth her hands ,
[and there is] none to comfort her: the LORD
hath commanded concerning Jacob, [that] his adversaries
[should be] round about him: Jerusalem is as a
menstrous woman niddah among them.
-------------------------------------------------

In Zechariah 13, a fountain is opened to
the House of David which takes away sin
and separation, which transforms our oozing
bloody infectious biological status into a new
paradigm of existence, of immortal flesh that
does not decay or suffer disease, death, sin
or destruction.

We will be shoulder to shoulder with the
holy angels, and while a few feet lower
in height, we will be recruited into the
glorious army of God and enter His Promised
Land of Paradise and brotherhood.

It's not just for dreamers. It's for every heart
dissatisfied with being weak, vulnerable,
smelly, hungry, hate-filled, jealous, evil
and unhappy. We can overcome the burdens
of human existence by drinking in the water
of life and growing in the light of our LORD
and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is COMING. Hold fast and hang on.
We have so much celebrating coming down
that it's hard to tolerate the inferior state of
infirmity that we're in.

No need to get nipped and tucked. Our flesh
will transform to something permanently
perfect. Our eyes will not only see, but, since
our relative eyesight is blindness, we will
truly see the full spectrum of dimensional
awareness that most of us are oblivious
towards.

More importantly, when we are washed clean,
and washed from within, our minds will be
freed. While the slavemasters of this planet
crank out robotic chips to plant in the heads
of the doomed, God has given us this reassurance
that evil will never prevail in HIS Universe.

It is done. We need to await the alignment of
the spheres of dimensional Time/Space grids
and hang on until the fullness of times gets
here. In our case, it's a piece of cake. It's
almost here.
