| Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord , and [that] he had spoken these things unto her. | |
| Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you. | |
| And when he had so said, he shewed unto them [his] hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. | |
| Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | |
| And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: | |

| But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. | |
| The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. | |
| And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you. | |
| Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. | |
| And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. | |
| Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed. | |
| And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: | |
| But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. |
Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began
to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the
sepulchre.
Mat 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake:
for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
and came and rolled back the stone from the door,
and sat upon it.
Mat 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and
his raiment white as snow:
Mat 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did
shake, and became as dead [men].
Mat 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto
the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek
Jesus, which was crucified.
Mat 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Mat 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that
he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth
before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him:
lo, I have told you.
Mat 28:8 And they departed quickly from the
sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run
to bring his disciples word.
Mat 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples,
behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And
they came and held him by the feet, and
worshipped him.
Mat 28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not
afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into
Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Mat 28:11 Now when they were going, behold,
some of the watch came into the city, and shewed
unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
Mat 28:12 And when they were assembled with the
elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large
money unto the soldiers,
Mat 28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by
night, and stole him [away] while we slept.
Mat 28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears,
we will persuade him, and secure you.
Mat 28:15 So they took the money, and did as they
were taught: and this saying is commonly reported
among the Jews until this day.
Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away
into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had
appointed them.
Mat 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped
him: but some doubted.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and
in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I
am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the
world. Amen.
The first to proclaim the risen Christ
was the disciple who mourned by his
tomb, Mary called Magdalene.
In Mark 16, the account is expanded
to include Mary, mother of Christ, who
is called mother of James and Salome,
two of Christ's half-siblings... In Luke
more women are included, (probably
his aunts and close relatives.)
These were the ones who learned of
Christ's being risen by two luminous
angels.
The harmony of the Gospel accounts
in all four authors is fascinating
because of different perspectives.
It shows that there was no collaboration
in writing them.
The women who came to the tomb,
came the first opportunity they
could, for they needed to preserve his
flesh, but, were forbidden to do so on
the Sabbath (Saturday from Friday
dusk to Saturday dusk. On dawn
Sunday, they arrived....) The first
day of the week is not called the
NEW Sabbath but the "first day
of the week."
Eventually, this was the justification
given for Sunday Sabbath, because
of the risen Christ, and that the
Apostles and disciples would meet
on Sundays, instead of the Sabbath,
because they were afraid... but, that
wasn't to their credit, actually.
Although there is grace in Christ's
doctrine, the Saturday Sabbath
was never changed. But, that's
it's own study.
Although both Mary, Christ's mother
and Mary M. were told by the angel
about Christ's victory over death,
Jesus appeared only to Mary M.
Why is this?
On the cross, a little gathering of his
relatives watched his final agony,
including Mary, his mother, Mary
her sister, his aunt, and John, the
young disciple who sat at his right
hand during the Last Supper, who
had a tender relationship with. He
told Mary to behold her son, meaning
John, and for John to behold his
mother, meaning Mary.
When Mary ran to tell the brethren,
according to John, Peter and he were
the first told. John calls himself,
the "one whom Christ loved." I think
this is a coded device to indicate
his special relationship with Christ,
(I believe) as his youngest half-brother.
Christ loved every disciple and Apostle,
so when John says he is loved by Christ,
it supercedes this general love. Just
as James calls himself the "brother
of low degree" meaning that his
biological parents, Mary and Joseph,
don't make him any more esteemed
than the others, John's double love
for Christ is expressed in his title
of "one whom Christ loved."
Indeed Christ loved him, letting
him lean on him during the Last
Supper. Why else would Christ
include such a young man, and
give him the most honored
position, on his right hand?
When Christ told John to behold
his mother, it wasn't metaphor.
It was literal.
This message was for their edification,
and comfort. (I believe...)
John was so young, and with Joseph
out of the picture, obviously passed away,
Jesus must have been like a father to him.
Now that Jesus was going to die, he
gave Mary a reason to continue living
and going forward, John, probably her
youngest child, still a young teen. For
John, he needed to go on without his
beloved brother, and was told to look
after his mother. The reason I believe
this proves they were mother and son
is that Christ had other brothers, like
James and Joses, but, told John to
watch over his mom, not the older
brothers.
With his death, he was separating
from his mortality as well as his
mortal biological family. Now, his
family were those who followed him.
That's why he appeared to Mary M.,
not Mary of Judah, his mother.
Mary M. symbolizes the Church,
even so far as to be a metaphor
for the Bride. How much confusion
is given to this literal theory? Mary
acted like a widow, though, the
same way we react to the death
of Christ, and she reacted in joy
when Christ revealed himself to
her as the risen Messiah. From
her recognition of him, she ran
to tell others.
Mary M. is confused with Mary,
sister of Lazarus, who was the
prostitute, but, both women were
symbols of the Bride, in every way,
even fulfilling the prophetic image
of Israel as an unfaithful harlot,
in Hosea, and the other prophetic
books.
Why were these dissolute and
troubled sinners chosen for Christ
to reveal his glorious role? Because
those who are seeped in the world
of sin know the hopelessness and
despair that ordinary people
sometimes miss. Ordinary people
try to do the right thing, raise
their kids, help others, and thus
ignore their dire spiritual state.
We are all fallen short of God's
expectations, and even a good
person can be doomed to go to
Hell for one curse, for one act
against another, for one gesture
that is contrary to the law.
The sinners leaped for joy when
Christ accepted them. Mary M.,
Mary, sister of Lazarus, the
publican Matthew and those who
were considered unsavoury and
ungodly, in their day, became the
pillars of a new Judaism.
Mary M., swept clean of demons,
may have been a temple prostitute,
but, all we're told is that she was
demonic, and the 7 demons indicate
she was infested with the unholy
spirit. When you see the behavior
of many young people today, maybe
that's their spiritual state, as well.
But, she represents the sinner in
their worst situation.
That's why when she was redeemed,
she married Christ, in true spirit
and soul. That's why she behaved as
his widow, waiting by his tomb,
part of the women's group, mostly
relatives, who went to prepare his
flesh for burial.
That's why Christ appeared to her,
and not his mortal mother. When
he came to her, her heart knew him,
but, he looked differently than she
expected. But, her heart and soul
prevailed.
Sometimes, we think we are getting
a clear directive from Christ, but,
it comes from a source that we
dismiss, like Mary M., who thought
he was a gardener. Here, the King
of the Universe, didn't appear in
flame or as a crowned King, although
he certainly is, but, as a lowly and
humble person, who she mistook
as being a servant to all. No accident.
When she saw him, she saw without
unwavering faith, and ran to tell
others.
She is what we are represented and
meant to be. She fulfills the bride
of Christ, along with the other women,
who were so devoted to him.
In Christ, women take on a new era,
where in the past, Judaism excluded
women, in Christianity, women are
blessed. It may not reflect that
sentiment in the modern church
doctrine, but, that's how Christ and
God corrected the error of the Pharisees
and Saducees, who even prevented
women from learning to read letters
so they would be locked out of
the secrets of God.
There are secrets in Christ's Kingdom
that are open to all, if they have the
desire to search them out. Christ is
a mystery and this is a purely
mystical religion, beyond what
any other can offer. I know. I've
tried them all, and only Christ
delivers.
Sisters in Christ, be bold, and
tell the world about the risen Christ.
Sisters in Christ, be confident, for
Christ gave us unique distinction
and forgiveness for our sins, even
showing a preference in that the
church is called his bride, his beloved.
This is a relationship that bonds
women to him in a way that men
cannot relate to as strongly.
Even when Mary and the other women
told the Apostles, they doubted them,
so low was their opinion of women
from their culture. Simon Peter
ran to see for himself, and he
reinforced his own devotion by
the deeds of his life.
Men are fortunate in every way by
following Christ, who he crowned
as his heirs and brothers, even when
he speaks of God the Father, he says,
God my Father, and God your Father.
Women are liberated in Christ, but
liberated in love and spirit.
Christ never married, and he
only spent 33 years in the flesh,
without sin. In resisting the
devil, and the desires for his own
life, he fulfilled God's plan, and
became the one-time sacrifice
for us all.
No longer would the High Priest
need to atone for the sins of the
nation with the ashes of the red
cow, or by the sacrifice of the perfect
3 year old lamb. Annointed by God
for the purpose of salvation, Christ
accomplished his 3 years of service,
only to fulfill all prophecy by being
obedient unto an agonizing death.
We take the suffering of animals
for granted, but, Christ, who was
born in a manger meant for animals,
died like an animal. In that gesture,
he freed all future animal sacrifices.
In the blood of Christ, are
our sins covered in righteousness.
In his biological blood were the
genes of King David, and of Moses,
on Mary's mother's side, for they
were Levites according to Luke
3.
The only way we can please God
is by faith in Him and to try to
comprehend this sacrifice, without
making it null and void.
In Jesus Christ, every ritual is
revealed, from the sacrificial
lambs and cows to the King and
High Priest promised in the
Messiah, who reigns in an
eternal Kingdom of Jerusalem,
and is the Lord of Hosts forever.
We're at a disadvantage to
imagine what breadth and depth
and meaning all of Christ's ministry
means for us. We believe we are good,
and most don't believe they need a
blood covering for sin, so how can
they fully appreciate His crucifixion
and sacrifice?
| And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. | |
| And very early in the morning the first [day] of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. | |
| And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? | |
| And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. | |
| And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. | |
| And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. | |
| But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. | |
| And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any [man]; for they were afraid. | |
| Now when [Jesus] was risen early the first [day] of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. | |
| [And] she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. | |
| And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. | |
| After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. | |
| And they went and told [it] unto the residue: neither believed they them. | |
| Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. | |
| And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. | |
| He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. | |

| And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. | |
| And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: | |
| And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? | |

| It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary [the mother] of James, and other [women that were] with them, which told these things unto the apostles. | |

| Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. | |
| And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem [about] threescore furlongs. | |

| And it came to pass, that, while they communed [together] and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. | |

| But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. | |
| And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? | |
| Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. | |
| And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them [his] hands and [his] feet. | |
| And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? | |
| And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. | |
| And he took [it], and did eat before them. | |
| And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me. | |
| Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, | |
| And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: | |
| And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. | |
| And ye are witnesses of these things. | |
| And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. | |
| And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. | |
| And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. | |
| And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: |
Heavenly Father,
How splendid is the hope of life
during the season when life seems
to emerge from the cold and dead
world. Christ, who died for our
sins, was the firstborn of the dead,
the firstfruit of our species. All
who have hope in Him share in
the joy of looking forward to
eternal life, never to end.
Most importantly to those of us
who cherish our LORD and Savior
is the knowledge of your love, and
of His act of reconciliation so that
we can appear before the Holy Throne
of God.
How incomprehensible it is that God
can be made flesh, yet, you made flesh
for us to dwell in. How can we doubt?
Yet, we are stubborn and handicapped.
We live in a world that's slipped into
apostasy and rebellion from your word.
Your WORD says that only a remnant
are saved, and all we can do is pray that
we are acceptable. Please reveal yourself
to us so that we may learn to fear and
not stray from life in Christ. Let us not
forget how lost we are. Let those of us,
like myself, who have had so many sins
paid for, never forget from whence I
came, or promote our own goodness
as a justification for our position in
your kingdom. I pray that I am saved,
for we are fragile beings, easily
deceived by our own egos and other
people's guile.
Father, be the light to guide us, and
let us see Christ as clearly as the sun.
Let us know Christ, like Mary M.,
and the Apostles knew Him, although
our eyes have never had their opportunity
to study his face, to see the nails in his
hands.
Thank you LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for
the miracles of Passover, and for providing
the lamb of redemption, the LAMB of God,
for only HE is worthy to stand before
your throne. In Him, are we accounted
as righteous. In Him, our love is preserved
and waiting.
You have promised us His return, and I
anxiously await this, and I believe it
LITERALLY LORD. I can even rejoice
seeing someone like Obama take the
stage, understanding that the workers
of perdition must accomplish the
indignation, for the fulfillment of times
to pass and for Christ's return. I rejoice
in all these things, even those things
which grieve my spirit and make
me want to fly away.
Lord, the world is so far gone, it's
difficult to pray for any one thing.
I pray that your will is done, because
I don't know what I want more, for
Obama to go away, or for him to
win so the 1290 day countdown can
begin. If he is the antichrist spoken
about at the end, let no Christian
be deceived. Open our eyes and
help us to discern that person, not
march blindly after the man of
doom.
The signs are all here for this to be
the last period of time in a world
without Christ. Just as Christ appeared
to Mary M., and the Apostles, I pray
that our faith is bolstered by the
supernatural signs that reinforces
our hope in the return of Christ.
Let there be shaking and trembling,
in all the Earth. Let the Earth be
silent and reflect upon the mercy
of God. Let them beseech God
for salvation and hope, for without
Christ, it is a world about to
implode, about to drop nuclear
bombs, creating biological weapons
of terror to kill other people's children...
It's a sick and perverse world in
every way, and only Christ can
usher in our new era.
I thank you for all the comfort and
hope you give us everyday, but, most
of all, even if my life here was spent
in misery, knowing Christ died for
my sins, hope in eternal life makes
suffering in this life neutralized.
Man is like the flower of the field,
and all our glory is like grass, where
we pass away so swiftly. Even living
100 years is a drop of rain in a torrential
downpour. You have assured us that
we have hope in eternal life, to be
with Jesus Christ, as brethren in
a royal order. How can we fully
comprehend the glory you have
bestowed on lowly man?
We will undoubtedly throw our
crowns at the feet of Christ, for
only He is worthy of all praise,
all worship and devotion and
honor. Yet, it is a mystery which
we'll never be able to comprehend
how he gave us his glory, even
promising us we're going to
reign with Him.
Lord, in Jesus Christ, we are all
made new, like the little sprigs of
grass and plants poking up out of
the cold ground. In Him, the mystery
of life is hidden, and in Him the gift
of eternal life is given.
Praise the LORD forever for our
lover and Savior Jesus Christ.
Let praise be on our lips forever.
I feel my heart trying to explode
from my chest when I try to see
his face in my mind's eye. I want
to hug my LORD but can only
close my eyes and clench my
teeth together, desiring Him above
all things, above everything.
I adore Jesus Christ, and I can
only know my Heavenly Father
by knowing Him. Father, I have
no other way to appear before
you except through my heart
which loves your Son, and my
soul which is marked by His
NAME.
I pray that I am not deceived in
things I get carried away with,
and I'm not swallowing camels
and straining at gnats. I only
want to serve you in Christ.
In the blessed NAME of Jesus Christ,
may this day of commemorating
His sacrifice and victory over the
cross be blessed, for all who believe.
May those who shun the light be
forced to observe the light inspite
of themselves, like someone trying
to block out the full strength of the
sun, by merely closing their eyes
cannot, let them not be able to
deny the power and strength
of God.
