Moses first witnessed the Glory of God's Presence in the form of a "burning bush". When he was instructed to follow him, leading the Israelites, He Himself led them in a pillar of "fire" by night, and a pillar of "cloud" by day.
When Moses climbed Mt. Sinai to commune with this "cloud", he spoke to
HaShem, face to face. He was filled with terror. When he descended, he was still illuminated, literally. His face glowed with His essence.
Exodus 34:35
And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
The Ark of the Covenant was built to contain the 2 stone tablets, written with the "finger of God" and along with it, were the brass serpent which possessed healing properties, and a jar of manna, which sustained them for 40 years.
Only the selected Priests of the Levites were allowed to handle it.
The High Priest was required to wear a peculiar garment, called an ephod, along with a breastplate of gold and specific precious stones. It reminds me of radiologist's aprons made of lead. But, I'll get back to the radioactive nature in a few....
Moses and Joshua and the Ark
The Ark was brought into the Holy Land, and it was held up to the Jordan river, and the river parted, and the Israelites entered upon dry land.
Joshua 3:15-18
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
That the waters which came down from above stood [and] rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that [is] beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, [even] the salt sea, failed, [and] were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
When Joshua was ready to enter the Holy Land, through Jericho, we all know how they blew the shofars (ram's horns)) and the walls fell down, but, in reading the whole passage in context, the Ark of the Covenant, was essential. There were 12 priests who carried it. Joshua puts a stone down for each of the 12:
Joshua 4:9
And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
And the wall fell down....
Joshua 6:4-7
And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long [blast] with the ram's horn, [and] when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
Joshua set up the Ark in Shiloh, and it remained there until the tribe of Benjamin got a hold of it, and kept it at Gibeah. They believed the Ark had not merely mystical power, but, MAGICAL power. Their arrogance led to them being at war with the rest of the 11 tribes, and they were defeated. So dim was their understanding, that they consulted with the Ark, expecting it to explain to them why they lost. Sometimes stupid requires no explanation.
The Ark goes to Shiloh again, in the territory of Ephraim, who now replaced Benjamin as holder of the title of 12th tribe, until over 300 years later.
In the Prophet Samuel's day, the Philistines went to war against Israel, for one of the first times, in the West Bank. Nothing has changed much, huh?
So, the Israelites fetched the Ark to carry with them, as a magical amulet thing that would defeat their foes, but, they soon learned that this is not the way YHWH plays. The Philistines whipped them, and captured the prize, also believing it to possess magical properties. Boy, were they sorry.
I Samuel 6:1
And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
In ISamuel 5, we learn that they put the Ark in the pagan temple of Dagon, and every morning the idol of Dagon was toppled in humility to the Hebrew Ark. Each morning they raise up the huge statue and grumble. Finally, the statue falls with it's hands and head cut off. God's sense of humor!
The Temple of Dagon was polluted and toxic from the Ark.
I Sam 5:5
Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
Then the real tsouris began. They started dropping like flies and developing tumors, and getting picked off by the dozens by their enemies in war.
I Sam 5:6
But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, [even] Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
OK, hemorrhoids, or more specifically anal tumors, or what was derived from the curse uttered in Deuteronomy 28:27
The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
In short, they convened to discern how to get rid of it. FAST. And how do we make nice to this scary deity?
Their diplomats felt that gold was always a proper bridge in restitution and penance. They made gold tumors and gold mice and sent the ark in a cart to a Palestinian settlement in Ekron:
I Samuel 5:10
Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.
I Samuel 5:11
So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
There are those today who say the ark is beneath the Temple of Omar in Jerusalem. After reading this passage, do we accept this possibility that God would not reduce the mosque to cinder if it came near 10,000 men bowing to Allah above it?
Nah.
Not possible, in my opinion.
Unless.....
Hmmm.
OK, I think it's possible, but, that's only because the revelation in the Apocalypse has an earthquake happening that renders Jerusalem apart. If Jerusalem is a heavenly portal, then, maybe it is in the caves beneath... But, I digress and waffled away completely.
Back to the strange properties of the ark, ultimately, the Philistines were pretty darn sensible, and gracious, actually, sending the ark back to Israel with two milk cows pulling a cart with it, and laden with gold tumors and other gifts. It landed in Bethshemesh, a Hebrew tribal territory, and the people were overjoyed and ran to greet it.
I Samuel 6: 14
\And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where [there was] a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.
Unfortunately, about 537,000 people of Bethshemesh were killed just from looking at it.
HOLY MOLY! These are Israelites that are killed in it's presence.
I Samuel 6:19
And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten [many] of the people with a great slaughter.
And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
I think it would have been acceptable for them to have prayed to YHWH for guidance and mercy, but, their response was to send messengers down to Kirjathjearam telling them to come and get the ark, like they were doing them a favor. LOL!
I Samuel 6:21
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, [and] fetch it up to you.
In the end, they "sanctified" a priest to look after it in his home for 20 years, and the Prophet Samuel began working on getting these numb skulls to stop sacrificing to Isis and learn the TOrah.
Also, it helped for the priest to be ordained to wear the sacred garment of the High Priest, which I still think looks like a lead apron:

My point is that it seems that there may be some unusual energy, possibly radioactive, involved with the Ark. You had to be a special handler to survive it. Finally, when the Temple was built, it was put in the Holy of Holies, where once a year, in Yom Kippur, the High Priest would go in to minister for his people before the Lord and it is said that the glory of the LORD would fill the Temple, as in the days of Moses. That cloud-like Shekinah glory. The living light. The light that stuck to Moses.
The light that stuck to Jesus when he went up into the mountain with Peter and John and Andrew:
Matthew 17:2
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
17:5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
..... that energy of a living light: SHEKINAH.
When Jesus was resurrected, he must have undergone a light transformation because of the image on the shroud, if that is indeed His testimony on that sacred cloth. No suitable explanation can account for it.
When Mary Magdalene sat Shiva outside the burial cave, he came to her, and would not let her touch him:
John 20:17
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.
Again and again there is an illusion of a radioactive light source that is like a living light, and it's connected to God, to life, to death, and to immortality.
It was only following this process that Jesus imparted the Holy Ghost on his followers by breathing on them:
John 20:22
And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
In conclusion, since my computer keeps locking up... my interest goes beyond just mere observation. There have been innumerable sightings of lights that left physical discharges, and these have odd electromagnetic and slightly radioactive particles. The surfaces they touch remain glowing for quite some time. This phenomenon is very common with UFO culture. My dad, along with many other people have seen living lights, in that they have no external light source other than their own Eminence.
Is this part of the visitation, and is this why these sightings are getting more common? They started documenting them in the last Century, like in 1908 in Siberia. Russia has massive files on the subject. Stalin was obsessed with this.
It's funny, because I know that Stalin was in Siberia in 1908, along with my great-uncle. June 30, 1908, was the date of the
Tunguska event. I think they both may have witnessed it. Stalin ended up creating the Soviet equivalent to Area 51....
My dad saw something spectacular about 10 years ago. His experience is similar sounding to Ezekiel's vision.
There are many who try to forge together UFOs and God. I'm far from that camp. I'm in the camp of seeing something different altogether, trust me. There may indeed be physical UFOs. I've seen what I've considered the classic ones. But, the lights are something different. These are literally living lights. These are the substance similar to the glorious cloud of cover that God cloaked himself in when visiting the Temple in Presence, and this manifestation was a physical event, not metaphorical one.
But, it also had some strange physical properties that weren't always compatible to human physiology as we are in this rotting state of mortality. But, there will soon come a day when this mortal shall put off mortality and be clothed with the brilliant linen of God's glorious clothing that literally shines and has properties of its' own.
Who can understand this fully? Maybe Einstein.
But, although I am far far far from Einstein's intellect, I have a desire to understand more than I do, and to have revealed to me the secrets of this world and beyond.
