FIRST THREE Testimony(witness) REF. (Eduth)
Exd 16:34 | As the LORD commanded Moses , so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony 05715, to be kept . |
Exd 25:16 | And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony 5715 which I shall give thee. |
Exd 25:21 | And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony 05715 that I shall give thee. |
Kept in context, this "Testimony" or witness
was synonymous with THE LAW.
God's Testimony IS the LAW.
We Christians are not absolved or not
required to follow the LAW, in fact,
because of the Holy Spirit, we are
commanded to be PERFECT in the
LAW, without exception.
There are sins of omission all around
us, and due to our human programming,
we are unable to be continuously diligent
and perfect, but, we are not given a
pass to ignore the LAW, and when we
are convicted by the LAW, we must
REPENT and turn away from sin,
no matter what traditions of men,
and even our own churches are.
By the end of the OT prophecies,
the Law has become corrupted
by the Babylonian Talmud and
errors in the priesthood. These
were so egregious, that the
entire priesthood was given
a bad name by the prophet
Malachi. It was a shadow
of what Christ would do to
confront the corrupt priesthood,
and change the world.
Mal 2:7 | For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he [is] the messenger of the LORD of hosts. |
Mal 2:8 | But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. |
Mal 2:9 | Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law. |
Mal 4:4 | Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments. |
Before the advent of Jesus Christ,
the priesthood of Levi was utterly
corrupted. Because of this iniquity,
the nation fell into Rome's clutches,
and finally, the priesthood was
infiltrated to the point of being
evil beyond repair.
When Christ appeared, he represented
a new priesthood, that of the Order
of Melchizedek, as the Priest King
of Salem, who offered Abraham
victuals and blessings. Melchizedek
which means righteous king, was
a figure of the pre-incarnate Christ.
Some interpret him as Christ, but,
most likely, he was just a holy man,
who portrayed the LORD, just like
King David and King Solomon did.
Jesus Christ did not abolish the
Law, farrrrrrr from it. He IS
the LAW. He is the Witness of
God. He IS THE LAW!

1) a testifying
a) the office committed to the prophets of testifying concerning future events
2) what one testifies, testimony, i.e. before a judge
WITNESS/TESTIMONY in Greek is the
word "marturia" where the word "martyr"
is derived.
And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness (marturia) against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. |
He that hath received his testimony (marturia)hath set to his seal that God is true. |
And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses,(martur) and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. |
¶ | And when they shall have finished their testimony (marturia), the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. |
As in the Old Testament, in the NT, "Witness"
is "Testimony" and when used in context with
Jesus Christ, is synonomous with the LAW
of God, Christ being the FULFILLMENT of
Holy Prophecy as the Son and Messiah of
the God of Israel.
When the world rejects the testimony of
the two lights of the world, they are
rejecting Christ, willfully. There will
be no doubt that they represent Jesus
Christ, or that Christ's power is behind
the destruction, yet, the world, even now
is in rebellion and hates Jesus Christ.
Today, in most of the world, the name
of Jesus Christ is reviled, and in an
ever growing part of the world, the
Name of God is forbidden, against
penalty of beheading, as prophecized
in the Book of Revelation.
